I wear an S on my shirt like a badge of honor
Like the strength can wipe away the trauma
Like the mere existence of me is proof that I’m stronger
Than anything and anyone that bucks up at me
Than any principality
When any storm or winds come my way
I don’t receive aid
No hand to hold
No assistance in carrying the load
Just a
you’re
so
strong
You’re so strong to handle that burden
You’re so strong to deal with the pain
You’re so strong
You can do more
take more
handle more
It’s expected
I’m neglected
I can’t hold on
I drown in thoughts and tears
Behind all their cheers
I’m weak
The forecast is looking bleak
But I don’t dare speak
This strength is mine to bury
With me to my early grave
I’m afraid I can no longer be brave
I’m weak
I’m living a losing streak
Badge of Honor
